Common Symptoms & Warning Signs
If you notice any of these structural failure signs in your Playa Vista garage, contact our master technicians immediately:
⚠️
Crushed Track Channel After Car Collision
Impact has flattened the steel track channel, making it impossible for rollers to pass through.
⚠️
Severe Rust Rot at Bottom of Vertical Tracks
Moisture, rain runoff, and road salts have corroded the bottom 12 inches of steel tracks into rusted flakes.
⚠️
Twisted Upper Radius Curve
The curved track radius where vertical transitions to horizontal has warped, causing rollers to derail.
⚠️
Conversion to High-Lift or Low-Headroom System
Remodeling a garage for car lifts or high ceilings requires custom high-lift or low-headroom track configurations.

Frequently Asked Questions (Playa Vista, CA)
Straightforward answers regarding Vertical & Horizontal Track Replacement costs, emergency response times, and warranties:
How much headroom is required for standard garage door tracks?
Standard 12" radius tracks require 12 to 14 inches of clearance above the door opening. Low-headroom double-track systems can operate in as little as 6 inches.
Can you install high-lift tracks for car lift clearance in Playa Vista?
Yes! High-lift conversions raise the horizontal tracks closer to the ceiling, creating ample vertical room for vehicle lifts or mezzanine storage.
Why do vertical tracks rust at the bottom?
Bottom tracks sit near concrete slabs where standing water, wash water, and salt accumulate. We offer rust-resistant galvanized replacements.
Do new tracks include new mounting brackets and hanging angles?
Yes, full track replacement includes heavy-gauge punched steel hanging angles, jamb brackets, and all new fastening hardware.
What should I do immediately if my garage door jumps off track in Playa Vista?
Stop using the electric opener immediately, keep people and vehicles clear of the door opening, and avoid pulling the emergency release cord while the door is jammed. Call our Playa Vista emergency repair team for safe mechanical stabilization and track realignment.
